MacBook Air In Hand

Here at attention 2 tech we have an 11 inch MacBook Air, and instead of doing a typical review of the computer itself, we are going to do a week long substitution for the iPad and do a comparison in use cases. We are very aware they are not the same product, but they are close in size and some are already comparing them. So keep checking back for content added and the full comparison review will be up before you know it.

I haven’t touched my iPad since I’ve gotten my 11″ MB Air – they are different products, but what I was mostly using my ipad for was surfing, remote connectivity to my other machines, twitter, email, and generally trying to do more than 1 thing at a time. I found myself often surfing or watching a video on the ipad and twitter on the iphone – two devices, one in each hand. The MB Air lets me use just one device. I will still use the iPad for watching podcasts/videos while on the couch or in bed, as well as a digital ebook, and the games are great! But overall I think the air fills a much needed niche. It’s quite fast, a reboot takes < 5 seconds for the standard $999.00 model.

Yeah, I will be very interested to see how much I actually miss the iPad. I am a fan of it, but I am also not a fan of being limited to doing certain things at time. We will see how it goes. Thanks for the comment!

I am incredibly exited to see how this turns out. With lion next year and the iPad-ification of OSX it will be even closer to an iPad.
