OnStar announced at their Press Conference at CES that, along with making OnStar available for all vehicles now, the voice communication application will be powered by Android. Your Android device will be paired via Bluetooth, and be able to take commands replying to SMS messages and even Facebook status updates. Any message that comes in will be automatically inverted to speech to help keep your eyes on the road.
You will have to have be running Android version 2.2 Froyo and Public Pilot testing will start January 2011. So big things coming for Android and OnStar, and now being able to add OnStar to any vehicle now will make the app and partnership even that much better.
