Google announced some of their earnings recently and also decided to throw in a curve ball that the Eric Schmidt will step down as CEO on April 4th. Schmidt is not leaving the company but will move down to Executive Chairman. Larry Page (co-founder) will engage as the role of CEO and Eric says that he is ready to take the reigns.
In Schmidts role, he will be involved with internal deals, customers, business relationships, partnerships, government outreach and more. Hopefully all goes smooth and this is kind of strange that they announced this the same week as Steve Jobs is taking a leave of absence from Apple, because of health reasons.
